What are the requirements to coach?
If you're interested in volunteering your time and talent to coach or assist coach, you can submit your interest in your Online Registration, or you can contact the coordinator of the sport for which you are volunteering. The Sports Coordinators' contact information is on the individual sport pages on the website.
All head coaches must submit to the following requirements:
1. Attend and receive certification of having attended the "Protecting God's Children" workshop conducted by the Archdiocese of Saint Louis. Times, dates and locations of upcoming sessions can be found at:
Protecting God's Children
.
2. Attend and receive certification of having attended the Coaching to Make a Positive Difference seminar conducted through CYC. Upon completion, the CYC main office will send you a Head Coach ID card, which you must carry to all games.Times, dates and locations of upcoming sessions can be found at:
Coaching to Make a Positive Difference
.
3. Complete and submit the following three forms:
Worker Registration Acknowledgement Form
Worker Registration form
Commitment to Ethical Conduct form
Once completed, make a copy of each form. Submit the originals to the St. Richard Parish office, and provide copied forms to your sports coordinator. Note: The Worker Registration form indicates a charge. You need not submit payment. St. Richard Parish pays for the background check.
All assistant coaches must submit to the requirements above, with the exception of having to attend the Coaching to Make a Positive Difference seminar and obtaining a Head Coach ID card. In lieu of a Head Coach ID card, assistant coaches must obtain a CYC Photo ID card. Assistant coaches who have a Head Coach ID card need not also have a CYC Photo ID card.
